The Comrades: "All In All"

Written by Jimmy Williams and Randy Gaston. Copyright 1994, 1995.

As a boy I thought I could change the world
Right the wrong, grow big and strong
But the years have passed, the visions have passed
Thoughts have changed, priorities rearranged

All in all, I thought I could change the world
All in all, won't forget what I have learned
All in all, another page has turned
All in all

In my life I have overcame
Many obstacles that stood in my way
Leaned to progress this far in life
Life's ups and downs, many years of strife

All in all, dealt with the decisions I made
All in all, walked down the paths I laid
All in all, wouldn't want it no other way
All in all

The roads wind up and down where we once drove
Life seemed so simple then, there was always hope
Parental dependency, nothing there to show
Life's bittersweet memories, no tinge of afterglow

I changed myself to make others happy
Many years of bliss, it wasn't me
Couldn't shake the label "nice guy" as you can see
Is there such a thing as inner harmony?

All in all, saw no silver lining, no brass ring
All in all, velcro memories that wouldn't cling
All in all, no golden halo or pair of wings
All in all
